Cape Verde was a Portuguese territory until it gained independence in 1975, and didn’t have any record manufacturing facilities of its own, so records were exported from Portugal with a customs export seal on the sleeve opening. Very few Cape Verde records of any kind have survived (and how many were exported in the first place – probably only a handful of each record or on special request).
We have included pictures of two other non-Zeppelin Cape Verde singles as evidence, to confirm these seals were in fact used for exporting purposes. This release is a real oddity.
