Swan Song (1974)
Belt Buckle, Prototype (USA)
From the collection of Brian Knapp
With the official launch of Swan Song Records in May 1974, a wide range of promotional items was distributed throughout the industry to introduce and promote the new label.
While many collectors are familiar with the round Swan Song buckle, this super-rare Swan Song Records prototype belt buckle was never released for promotional use. The square design showcases the iconic Icarus logo with the band’s name beneath it. By contrast, the promotional version featured the Icarus logo with “Swan Song” underneath, making this prototype a unique and highly sought-after piece.
This specific buckle was obtained from the Shelly Kayne collection, who worked for Led Zeppelin.
